Growing up, I often felt misunderstood, constantly thinking deeply, struggling with focus, emotional intensity, and feeling disconnected from traditional systems that were not designed for the way some young minds work.
Years later, receiving a late ADHD diagnosis gave clarity to experiences I had carried for years. It helped me understand something important: many young people are not “problematic”, they are misunderstood.
RichThoughts Mentoring was built to create the kind of guidance, structure, and understanding that I know can genuinely change a young person’s life.
Because sometimes, one person believing in you can completely change the direction of your future.
Our approach is centred on building genuine connection, trust, and consistency with young people. Rather than focusing solely on behaviour, we seek to understand the individual behind it, creating a safe space where young people feel heard, supported, and encouraged to grow.
Over the last 10 years, I’ve worked with young people through youth centres, football coaching, mentoring, workshops, and across more than 12 schools. These experiences have helped me understand how important connection, guidance, and feeling understood can be in a young person’s development.
Working with young people from a range of backgrounds has reinforced my belief that every young person has potential. With the right support, encouragement, and opportunities, young people can overcome challenges, grow in confidence, and thrive both in and outside of education.
